Brand Gould is a songwriter and finger-style guitarist from Denver, Colo., where he performs regularly. He began studying music and the guitar, during the mid-1970s explosion of musical innovation, a source of considerable influence on his music. Having left architectural practice in 2006, he began dedicating time to refining his knowledge of music, developing his technical skills on the instrument and applying both to his interest in creating original songs. He draws lyrical, melodic and instrumental inspiration from his deep connection to and experiences with the 1000 Islands area. The river’s evocative moods and mysteries have been a rich source of material. When in the area, he can be found providing live music for his wife, Kelli’s, weekly yoga classes in Clayton. The third of four generations on the islands, he is a lifelong summer resident of Pullman and Maple islands, both situated upriver from Thousand Island Park.
